Server Subscription and Media Channel Issues from an Indian 🇮🇳 User's Perspective

​Hi Discord Team,

​I have been a dedicated Discord user since December 2019. I am writing to share some crucial feedback regarding the Indian user base, specifically concerning Server Subscriptions and Media Channels.

​I believe implementing the following changes would significantly improve the platform for millions of users here:

​1. Launch Server Subscriptions in India

​There is a massive gaming and YouTube community in India, with many creators managing servers that have millions of members. Currently, the lack of a Server Subscription option in India prevents these major creators from directly monetizing their communities. Enabling this feature would be a massive win-win for both Discord and Indian content creators.

​2. Improve the Media/Forum Channel Scrolling Direction

​Right now, most large Indian communities still use standard Text Channels for memes, media, and galleries instead of the dedicated Media Channels (which use the Forum layout). This is because of how content is displayed:

● ​In Media/Forum channels, new posts appear at the top, forcing a top-to-bottom reading experience.

● ​Server members are deeply habituated to standard text channels, where they scroll from bottom to top to view older media.

​Because the reverse scrolling direction feels unnatural to our users, creators are avoiding Media Channels entirely. Having an option to change the sorting/scrolling direction to mirror standard text channels would solve this.
