Stripe FAQ
Q: Can I use a Stripe account I already have for another platform?
A: No - our implementation with Stripe requires you to create a new, separate account for Discord.
Q: Why does Stripe only allow me to select the United States as my country option?
A: We only support Server Subscriptions and Server Shop for US-based users who can provide US banking information and identification.
Q: Will my subscribers see my Stripe information/Personal information?
A: No - when a user subscribes, the most that should appear on a billing statement will be the server name and Discord. If you have specific questions on billing data, please reach out to Stripe Customer Service.
Q: Why does my Stripe dashboard say $0 earned despite the fact that I have active subscribers?
A: Stripe will only reflect money that has been actually sent and paid to you. In order to see your overall earned funds on Discord Server Subscriptions, you should refer to your Payments section in your Server Subscriptions settings, or your Server Insights page. Once a payout has been approved and sent to your bank, you will see info in Stripe!
Q: Help! I incorrectly did something during my Stripe setup - what do I do?
A: The easiest solution is to create a new team within the Discord Developer Portal, and restart the Stripe onboarding process.
- Head to the Discord Developer Portal
- Select "Teams"
- Select "New Team"
- Setup your new Stripe account/payout information
- Head back to your Server Subscriptions settings within the Discord App
- Under "Payment" you should see "Change your payment team" at the bottom - select the new team you created
Q: Can you delete a Stripe account for me?
A: Yes - please fill out a support request here. Please note that Stripe cannot delete the accounts at this time and that Discord will need to do it!
Q: Why are my payouts paused?
A: Most of the time, payouts on your account are paused because you owe Stripe some information such as an identification document, tax info, or date of birth. You should find this in your Stripe account. Please do not send Discord this info, as we do not handle it!
Q: Uh-oh, my payout failed because of an expired payout card or account - what can I do?
A: We process payouts once per month, on or before the 15th (November’s payouts will process on or before December 15th, for example). If for some reason your payout failed this month, please check within Stripe that your information is up to date and accurate and your payout will be retried with any new accrued funds in our next payout!
Q: Stripe contacted me and said that my account is unpayable or will be actioned soon - can you help me?
A: No, we cannot - if Stripe has deemed your account unpayable or has asked for more information, you will need to work with them on a resolution. Their team should be able to tell you what is needed!
Q: Where can I find Stripe’s policies on prohibited businesses?
A: You can find them here!
